PITTSBURGH,None — A McKeesport man has been sentenced to life in prison in the murder of an employee during a botched robbery at a Homestead restaurant almost three years ago.
Brandon Jeffrey Johnson, 22, was also sentenced Monday to an additional five to 10 years on related robbery, car theft and firearms offenses that is to be served after the murder sentence.
Johnson was convicted in March of second-degree murder in a nonjury trial in Allegheny County in the July 2008 death of kitchen worker Brian Lee, 19, of West Mifflin.
Prosecutors said Johnson shot and killed Lee after running into him by the back door of Damon's Grill after closing time. Johnson said another man committed the shooting, but the judge said he did not believe the testimony.
