OHIO TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — A man who had just spent the night at a casino returned home to find a robber with a gun waiting for him.
Investigators said the victim lives above the House of Lee on Route 65.
Police said the robbery happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The victim told police he was attacked from behind as he was entering his second-story apartment.
"He was accosted by someone wearing a mask and brandishing a firearm," said Ohio Township police Chief Norbert Miklos.
Miklos said the suspect viciously beat the victim on the head and face with a handgun.
"I started to scream. I said, 'Help, help help!' As I was doing that he put his glove in my mouth and tried to shut me up. I bit him with everything I had," said victim Paul Leung.
Leung said his sister-in-law heard him screaming and came to his aid.
"He was now pointing the gun at my sister and threatening to shoot my sister-in-law. I tried to grab the gun and he yanked it away," said Leung.
The victim said he put up a struggle and tried to fight back, but the gunman continued assaulting him and got away with a large sum of cash.
"He got an envelope he had in his pocket. He believes between $4,000 to $5,000," Miklos said.
Police are looking at surveillance video from the building and hope to identify the suspect.
"This individual is a coward. He should be a productive member of society instead of preying on people like me," Leung said.
