MONACA, Pa. — Police in Beaver County said two men took test drove cars and didn’t bring them back to the dealerships.
Leamond J. Black, 70, and Christopher Mitchell, 40, took a sport-utility vehicle for a test drive on July 25 from Monaca Auto Sales and did not return it, according to police.
Police found the vehicle in a Giant Eagle parking lot with the men in it, police said.
“Talk about smart criminals -- they gave me their drivers licenses and then stole the car,” said Steve Dugas of Monaca Auto Sales.
Black and Mitchell face charges for a similar incident in Rochester Township.
The two are accused of taking a car for a test drive July 17 from Power's Auto Sales and never returning it. The car was found abandoned in Pittsburgh.
“We knew where it was. We drove to Pittsburgh and found it right where the GPS told us it would be,” said Nick Campagna of Power Auto Sales.
The car later was found abandoned in Pittsburgh.
Both men are in jail on $5,000 bond.
