STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A woman, her adult son and her infant grandson died Saturday morning in a house fire in Stowe Township, fire officials said.

The medical examiner said the victims are 50-year-old Linda Tschudi, 29-year-old Michael Tschudi Jr. and 5-month-old Gabriel Glikis.

Linda Tschudi is  Michael Tschudi's mother. The infant is Linda Tschudi's grandson and Michael Tschudi's nephew. Officials said Linda was babysitting the infant at her home when the fire broke out.

Fire Marshal Martin Jacobs said the fast-moving blaze was reported shortly after 6 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of Dohrman Street.

Jacobs said the infant was found on the second floor of the dwelling. He said the two adults were found at the bottom of the stairs.

Those at the scene said they wished they could have done more, and offered their thoughts and prayers ahead of the holiday. The fire marshal is offering their support to firefighters who are having difficulty with the loss.

“For our firefighters, it's going to be tough. We have some younger firefighters that really have never seen this type of thing before, and we're going to get some emotional assistance for that,” Jacobs said.

A family friend held back tears as she spoke with Channel 11. Gayle Lawrence rushed to the home after she received a phone call she described as her worst nightmare.

"The baby was spending the night at grandma's, and next thing you know, God took them Christmas Eve," Lawrence said. "It's going to be hard on all of us. It really is. It's going to be rough."

Funeral arrangements are pending and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
