A woman’s solo kayaking trip from Ketchikan to Petersburg, Alaska, did not end the way she had planned.
Mary Maley posted a video to YouTube on Tuesday of her encounter with a bear.

A bear wandered in front of the cabin where Maley was staying and started to gnaw on her kayak.
"Please stop, bear," she said in the video. "It's the end of September, why are you here? You're supposed to be asleep."
Maley said when the bear left the area, she brought the kayak back to the cabin.
Maley was afraid she'd be stranded so she swam out to an anchored sailing boat and asked for help to get back home.
