Doctors are reporting an unexpected side effect to a relatively new eczema drug -- growing hair. This has only been demonstrated in one patient so far.
A 13-year-old girl started taking the drug called Dupixent. It is intended to treat eczema -- an intensely itchy skin disease.
She also happened to have a severe case of alopecia, which is total hair loss.
Within a year of using the eczema drug, she's sprouted all new hair growth. The announcement is posted on the JAMA Dermatology website.
