PITTSBURGH — Two new additions made their debut Thursday morning at The Islands exhibit at Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

Merlin, 5, and Leela, 4, are the names of the pair. They are expected to be in the exhibit full time this weekend.

Weeks after the debut of the exhibit, the two siamangs finally swung from a rope outside their new space, making their public debut. The two quickly became acquainted with 13-foot treetops and open space.
“We are so pleased that they are adjusting fabulously,” said Karen Vacco, an assistant mammal curator at the zoo. “We’ve been taking it slowly.”
