SHENANGO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Officials are investigating the possible theft of nearly a half-million dollars from Shenango Township.
"We came to a meeting once. They told us it was none of our business. It is our business," said resident Barb Thompson.
After learning about the investigation, residents packed a township meeting Thursday. There wasn't enough room for the crowd, so some listened through windows outside.
The Lawrence County District Attorney's Office is investigating two Shenango Township employees -- secretary Brian Tanner and auditor Deno DeLorenzo.
The two are under investigation for 224 checks totaling $453,516.80 allegedly paid to the two men.
"We're really upset this happened," said supervisor Russell Riley.
