Ohio Twp. police looking for ‘armed and dangerous' home burglary suspect

OHIO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police in Ohio Township are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a home burglary.

According to police, Thomas Dittmar, 21, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Dittmar is accused of breaking into a house on Herron Avenue with Michael Rusak, 24, and stealing $800 in coins as well as a .25 caliber handgun.

At the time of the robbery, police said the homeowner was working at nearby Church of Christ.

Dittmar and Rusak gained entry into the house by removing an air conditioner from a second-floor window, police said.

According to investigators, the men ransacked the house before finding the money and gun -- a family heirloom passed down by the homeowner’s father.

Rusak has agreed to turn himself in, police said.

They are searching for Dittmar and the stolen gun.
