WILKINS TOWNSHIP, Pa.,None — Emergency officials received reports of a fire and explosion noises at an industrial warehouse in Wilkins Township on Thursday evening.
The fire department arrived at the Larimer Avenue warehouse shortly after 8 p.m. and determined that some oil drums filled with aluminum had caught fire at Anker Industries.
Workers were removing bolts with a cutting torch and said they believe oil residue on the barrels may have ignited.
Anker is a producer of metal powders for steel and iron foundries.
No one was hurt in the accident. The fire marshal is investigating.
