PITTSBURGH — Rain and strong winds that began Tuesday continued well into Wednesday, causing downed power lines and trees in many areas. Lightning is even being blamed for sparking a house fire in Elizabeth Township.

Severe Weather Team meteorologist Scott Harbaugh said more showers and storms are expected.

Meanwhile, a fire in Elizabeth Township overnight is being blamed on a lightning strike. Channel 11’s Brandon Hudson reported that a tree close to the home on Oberdick Drive was hit, causing a gas line fire in the home.
