Pittsburgh honor roll student found shot to death on porch in Sheraden

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh Public Schools honor roll student was found shot to death Tuesday afternoon on a porch in the city’s Sheraden neighborhood.

PPS spokeswoman Ebony Pugh identified the victim as Rashawn Gibson, 17. Her full statement is below:

Channel 11 News learned the 2700 block of Glen Mawr Street was also the scene of a double murder in 2014.

Investigators said Rashawn  was found dead when officers and paramedics arrived at Glen Mawr Street just before 4 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the teen was found on a porch. The official cause and manner of death of the youth still are pending, the medical examiner said.

Police said at this point, they have no suspects.

Pittsburgh police investigated the homicide of 17-year-old Diondre Dozier and 18-year-old Martin Brown Jr. Both teenagers were gunned down.

Michael St. Clair was charged in connection with their deaths.
