PITTSBURGH — If you are headed to Downtown Pittsburgh this weekend you should be prepared to experience some traffic delays as runners take to the streets for the 2023 Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon.
Roads will begin to close on Friday at around noon. They will continue to close at different points throughout the weekend.
Blvd of the Allies will close on Friday between Wood and Stanwix Streets.
Closures will begin near PNC Park, the Children’s Museum and Point State Park will close beginning at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday for the UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K 2023 Chick-fil-A Kids Marathon.

The rest of the marathon course will be closed again in different segments on Sunday morning. The first closure will be Liberty Avenue which will close at 1:30 a.m.

A series of routes will be set up to get inside the course for people coming from I-279 and Route 65.
Anyone heading to the city is asked to provide themself with more time.
