PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police officers arrested a warrant suspect Wednesday while stopping for breakfast at Pamela’s Diner in the Strip District.
Ibn Billings, 37, of Garfield, had an outstanding warrant for a carjacking last November, when he robbed a woman of her vehicle in Garfield. Officers recognized Billings while he was working at the diner.
Police took Billings into the back room for the safety of patrons and placed him in custody. Officers found a firearm with a fully loaded magazine in his waistband.
Billings was taken to Allegheny County Jail. He is charged with the original carjacking charges, along with the new charges of persons not to possess a firearm and firearms not to be carried without a license.
