Police Have Suspect In Wilkinsburg Man's 30th B-Day Slaying

WILKINSBURG, Pa.,None — A Wilkinsburg man was shot in the back and killed on his 30th birthday on Thursday.

Authorities said James Johnson, of McKeesport, was shot on the front porch of a house along Ross Avenue. He was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh hospital.

An 8-month-old boy was also grazed by a bullet during this shooting.

A man being questioned in the case walked out of police headquarters wearing a hazmat suit on Thursday.

Police kept the man's clothes as evidence, so they gave him a hazmat suit to wear home.

That man was later named as an official suspect in this homicide. Allegheny County Police will charge Tariq Taliaferro, 20, of Wilkinsburg, with the murder.
