ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police in Ross Township are warning people about a rash of recent car break-ins.
In the past week, at least 16 vehicles were broken into, police said. The thieves then stole tools, electronics, cash and credit cards. Police said all of the stolen items were left in plain sight.
The break-ins happened at several locations along busy McKnight Road, including hotels and apartment complexes. Another took place at Corbett Court Apartments, on the Ross Township-Bellevue border.
“These persons were determined to get into these cars,” said Sgt. Benjamin Dripps, of the Ross Township Police Department. “They forced entry by smashing windows out.”
Police are reminding people to lock their vehicles and take any valuables out or hide them in the trunk.
