PITTSBURGH — A fight in Pittsburgh’s South Side Sunday night ended when a man stabbed a father of two several times outside of an East Carson Street eatery.
According to police, Clyde Elliot Sr., 39, of the South Side, was inside South Side Steaks with his children when he ran outside and punched Demetrius Winters, 47, of the Hill District in the face.
According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at TribLIVE, an employee of the eatery said Elliot walked into the restaurant and noticed that Winters was outside. Elliot told Winters "don't you ever come to mom's house again," the criminal complaint stated, before punching him in the face.
A former Navy hospital corpsman, Marino said she threw on a pair of plastic gloves and, lacking gauze, used long sheets of paper towels to apply pressure to the victim's chest wound until medics arrived.
"He looked like he was going into shock," said Melissa Marino, 39, of Mt. Oliver.
Marino said the fight appeared to have been the continuation of an earlier argument between the suspect and victim.
“I've been here 11 years, and outside of the usual weekend, late night South Side craziness, we've never had an incident like this on this block," said owner Marc Feldstein.
Elliot was not seriously hurt.
