PITTSBURGH — A murder suspect who had been on the run for months was arrested Monday.

Jenkins Everett, 26, is accused of killing 29-year-old Eric Bivins in June.

Bivins was found dead near the intersection of Mohawk and Beelan Streets in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, police pulled up Monday at a house on Rochelle Street and saw Everett inside.

The complaint said Everett ran to the second floor and onto a porch and jumped into a vacant lost next door before climbing an 8-foot fence in an attempt to get away.

An officer caught up to him and arrested him.

Everett remained in the Allegheny County Jail on Tuesday, facing a charge of homicide.
