Police remind parents to check Halloween candy after object found in Kit Kat bar

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — Authorities in one Washington County community are reminding parents to check their children’s Halloween candy after an object was found inside a Kit Kat bar obtained during trick-or-treating.

According to a post on the

, a Kit Kat bar found to have a hole in its wrapper contained a long, cylindrical item, which police believed was a piece of graphite pencil lead.

The post stated that the candy was obtained during trick-or-treating in the Rogers Manor section of Fallowfield Township.

Authorities advised that if a piece of candy does not look right, it probably is not and should be thrown out.
