Reward offered for information leading to bank robber's arrest

Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help to find a bank robber.

The robbery was reported on Jan. 20 just before 3:30 p.m. at Sewickley Savings Bank on Broad Street.

Investigators said a man entered the bank from a side door and walked directly behind the bank teller counter, demanding money.  The robber proceeded to the cash drawers, where he took an undisclosed amount of money from the drawers.

The robber is described as a tall, slender, white male. He was wearing dark-colored pants; a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt; a black, gold, and white knit cap; a black mask covering his face from the nose down; and dark-colored winter gloves.

The robber fled before police arrived and was seen running through the parking lot of the bank. He then got into a vehicle on Locust Place.

The Sewickley Police Department, along with the Allegheny County Police Department and the FBI, is investigating the robbery.

Anyone with information concerning this bank robbery is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the robber. Callers may remain anonymous.
