Army Specialist Henry Alvarado was reassigned from Alaska to Los Angeles. On the day of their flight, his dog Dukey was hit by a car. Severe injuries on Dukey’s legs meant he couldn’t fly and had to be left behind. Rescue from the Hart Foundation stepped up to help, launching a fundraiser for Dukey’s medical bills. After 6 weeks in rehabilitation, Alvarado and Dukey were reunited in Los Angeles.
