PORTLAND, Ore. — A suspected car thief was caught on a security camera, but the car was returned with a note and cash.
Erin Hatzi posted pictures of the thief on her Facebook page, but
[ she told KGW ]
The woman had left cash inside and a note that said:
that it seemed strange because the thief sat in the car, with the engine running, for several minutes before driving away.
Hatzi filed a police report, and the next afternoon officers stopped a woman who was getting out of Hatzi's car, right outside her house.
Police confirmed that older Subaru keys are sometimes interchangeable.
