Sunflower seeds sold at several Giant Eagle Market District stores are being recalled because of possible Listeria contamination.
The seeds, which were supplied by SunOpta, were sold in the bulk foods section of Market District stores in Pine, Shadyside, South Hills Village and the Waterworks between Feb. 15 and May 3.
The affected seeds have a PLU number of 65167 and “sell by” dates through Aug. 19.
Customers should throw away the seeds or return them to a Market District store.
SunOpta recalled about 100 different snack products this week, including Planters, due to possible Listeria contamination related to sunflower seeds.
