WILKINSBURG, Pa. — While no charges have been filed in the Wilkinsburg mass shooting, one of the victims is facing a felony assault charge from an incident in December.
Lamont Powell, one of three survivors of the shooting this month, went from his hospital bed at UPMC Mercy Hospital last week to the Allegheny County Jail.%

The 24-year-old, who the Allegheny County district attorney said was the likely target of the Franklin Avenue mass shooting, is accused of violently assaulting his sister’s boyfriend.
In December, police were called to a home on Pitler Street in Pittsburgh after Lamont Powell allegedly pulled a gun on a man involved in a custody dispute with Powell’s sister, Chanette Powell.
Chanette Powell and her unborn child were among the six killed in the Wilkinsburg mass shooting.
According to the criminal complaint from the Dec. 5 incident, Lamont Powell pointed a firearm in the man’s face and told him to “get on your knees” before punching and kicking the man in the face.
Investigators told Channel 11 News that they have not connected the December incident to the mass shooting.
Lamont Powell posted $30,000 bail Friday night. Calls left for him for comment were not immediately returned Monday.
