A Swissvale man accused of assaulting a woman in June at a Harmer business has been ordered to stand trial.
, a judge on Monday ordered 24-year-old Terrell Leonard to be tried on charges of drug possession and illegally having guns.
Investigators said Leonard was seen assaulting a woman in June at a business on Commerce Drive in Harmar. Officers said Leonard was uncooperative with police when they arrived.
Leonard was initially arrested on accusations that he assaulted the woman, but when police searched his car, they said they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a .380-caliber pistol in the front console and a sawed-off shotgun in the trunk. Both guns were loaded.
Police told

that Leonard does not have a permit to carry a handgun, and the shotgun's barrel was so short that it is illegal. In addition, the shotgun's serial number was scratched off, which is also illegal.
Leonard was charged in August with driving under the influence of a drug other than marijuana, driving while his license is suspended or revoked and two other driving offenses.
He remains in the Allegheny County Jail in lieu of $25,000 combined bond pending trial.
