GATES: Gates will open at 11:30 a.m., two hours ahead of the first pitch at 1:35. Pregame ceremonies begin at 12:45.
TRAFFIC: Beginning at 10 a.m., the Roberto Clemente Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic. The Pirates are encouraging attendees to take transit on Opening Day. PARKING: Consol Enegry Center and surrounding parking facilities, Grant Street Transit Center, Station Square (Gateway Clipper Shuttle Boats), Carnegie Science Center lots and the Fulton Avenue lot. North Shore parking near PNC Park will open at 9 a.m. with event rates. If everyone in your vehicle 21-years-old, you can park at the Rivers Casino Garage for $30.
SECURITY: This year, instead of being wanded upon entry, fans will now walk through metal detectors. Bags, purses, fanny packs and backpacks 16x16x8-inches or smaller will be allowed and are subject to search. Express lanes are available for those not carrying bags to the game.
