1 dead, 4 injured in Washington County crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Pa. — One person is dead and four others were transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Washington County, authorites said.

Police, fire and emergency crews were sent to the crash site at the intersection of routes 519 and 19 in North Strabane Township.

Officials said a white car traveling southbound jumped the median, went into the northbound lane and hit an SUV.

All four lanes of Route 19 were closed while crews work at the scene. Traffic was rerouted.

Elizabeth Bright, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene and another person in the white car was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. There were three people in the SUV, who were all taken to the hospital in stable condition.
