UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Uniontown police said a 15-year-old boy was shot in the head around 8 p.m. Friday night.
Police said the shooting happened in an alley off Coolspring Street. The boy was airlifted to a hospital. The boy remains in critical condition.
The shooting occurred between two groups of 2-3 people shot at each other.
Police said they are still investigating, but they don’t have any suspects in custody.
Neighbors say this hits too close to home, with the shooting close to where children play.
“They were literally putting up the tape when and figuring out what the hell was going on... (but to)... like I’m so shocked by this, and then he pulled me around here and says the little boy got shot. I see the blood. Of course it’s traumatizing,” neighbor Jerrica Allen said. “Kids play in this alley all the time especially now that it’s warm outside. They ride their bikes; playing tag, chasing each other.. in my yard, neighbors yard, in the field... and it just happened like right here.”
Investigators have spent today canvassing area businesses for surveillance video as they continue to work tips that could lead them to a suspect...
“It could’ve been someone else’s kid, it could’ve been neighbors kid.. it could’ve been anybody. I start freaking out and that’s all I think about; I couldn’t calm myself down because it’s not longer around the street or down the street. It’s literally at my back door. Now I’m just like I’m moving,” Allen said.
