Two people became trapped in floodwaters along Library Road in Overbrook after an evening of severe weather – and the terrifying moments were caught on camera.

They said the ordeal was surreal and, had they stayed in their cars for minutes longer, the outcome could have been worse.

Tylen Neal said the water was so high he had to climb out of his driver's side window to safety.

"In my head, I was like, 'I've got to get out of this," Neal said. "I'm soaked. It was about waist deep."

He recorded the intense moments on his cellphone, then saw another driver in danger.

"I got out of my car, hopped out my window, walked over to this auto repair shop. I was just looking at all the damage and I saw this lady on her car," Neal, of Brentwood, said.

The lady he saw was another driver who'd become trapped, Leah Rowan.

"There was water rushing past me, and it was like up above everything and it was like a river," Rowan said. "I climbed out onto the top (of the car) because I have a sunroof and I called the police."

The pair, who had never met before today, said they realize cars are replaceable, but lives are not.

"I was just shocked, in disbelief," Neal said. "It happened so fast."

Flooding was reported on other roads in the area, and the Port Authority said on Wednesday the Blue Line Library remained closed because of flooding, which was delaying vehicles about a half hour. Officials said the line should be reopened by Thursday morning.
