2 men indicted in Nashville murder of nurse, Butler County native

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two men accused of killing a Butler County native on a Nashville highway have been indicted by a Grand Jury in Tennessee.

Caitlyn Kaufman, 26, was shot to death in December while on her way to work as an ICU nurse.

Hill and Cowan were indicted for first-degree murder.

Devaunte Hill, 21, and James Cowan, 28, were both arrested and charged in connection with Kaufman’s death. Police said Hill shot Kaufman and Cowan was in the car with him when it happened.

Kaufman grew up in Chicora and went to Clarion University.
