Law enforcement officials across two counties are breathing a sigh of relief tonight knowing that four suspects accused of conducting a robbery spree are behind bars.
"They hit Westmoreland County and Allegheny County. What county was next? You could see the progressio. It kept getting worse," said Delmont Police Chief Tim Klobucar.
Damon Gergely, Sarah Angert, Lindsay Vasko and Bennie Carter are all in jail and facing charges for a handful of robberies at gas stations and convenience stores from Delmont and North Huntingdon to West Mifflin and McKeesport.

"We received a call that the Sunoco had an armed robbery occur, but through the investigation, my car and my officer working that shift was in the parking lot six minutes prior to the robbery occurring," Klobucar said.
Delmont police said that call was made in November. The same four suspects are accused of hitting the BP gas station on Route 30 and Arona Road in North Huntingdon Township -- on two days, back to back in October.
After issuing multiple search warrants, police said they recovered enough evidence to charge the four with the Westmoreland County robberies. They said the charges were a cooperative effort between counties and departments.
"It really was a collaborative effort between Delmont and North Huntingdon, Allegheny County and Westmoreland County detectives," Klobucar said.
