76-year-old woman dies from hypothermia after going missing from home

KITTANNING, Pa. — An extensive search for a missing 76-year-old woman was successful in finding her, but she did not survive, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Kathryn Noel, 76 – who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease – went missing from her home near Route 422 in Kittanning.

Noel went into cardiac arrest as a result of hypothermia and died, according to police documents.

Troopers and firefighters did an extensive search, before eventually finding Noel a short distance from her home, and she was rushed to a local hospital.
