94-year-old WWII veteran receives honorary diploma from North Hills School District

ALLEGHENY CO., Pa. — A 94-year-old World War II veteran got his honorary high school diploma -- 76 years later.

David Tyson didn’t finish West View High School in 1945, opting to join the US Navy instead in 1944 and serve in the back half of the war.

The North Hills School District gave him his honorary diploma during a small ceremony at his home in McCandless Friday -- just two days before his 95th birthday.
