Ewing was abducted and killed a few weeks after her husband was arrested on domestic violence and related charges and subsequently released on bail.
Kevin Ewing fatally shot himself after killing his wife.
Her death inspired Tierne’s Law, legislation empowering judges to keep dangerous domestic violence offenders in jail if necessary. The bill, passed by the state Senate, is awaiting action in the state House of Representatives.
