WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. — The jury has been chosen in the trial of a man accused of shooting and killing St. Clair Township Police Officer Lloyd Reed in November 2015.
Reed was killed while responding to a domestic dispute between Ray Shetler Jr. and his girlfriend at a home in New Florence, police said.
Shetler was arrested after being on the run for six hours, police said. At one point, he swam across a river.

Prosecutors say Shetler fired at Reed, fatally hitting him in the chest.
Shetler’s attorney has argued that Shetler was defending himself and didn’t know Reed was a police officer.
The jury is composed for nine men and seven women. Each prospective juror had to answer a series of questions to insure they didn't know about the high-profile case or who Shetler is.
Opening statements start on Thursday.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
