Ultra-low-cost airline passenger carrier Allegiant Air said it plans to resume its nonstop service flight out of Pittsburgh International Airport to Norfolk International Airport in Virginia beginning this summer as part of a broader national expansion plan.
Customers can now book flights to the Virginia Beach area for as low as $49, the carrier said. The rescheduled route will officially begin again on June 3 following its postponement in 2020 due to the pandemic and a collapse of the passenger aviation industry.
“Today, travelers are seeking destinations that allow them the chance to recreate in a safe way, usually outdoors,” Drew Wells, Allegiant’s vice president of revenue and planning, said in a press release.
