Arrest made after man shot, critically hurt in Millvale shooting

MILLVALE, Pa. — An arrest has been made in the shooting of a man in Millvale on Sunday afternoon, police announced Monday.

Jeffery Mitchell, 36, is accused of shooting another man, who is also 36 years old, in the chest about 2:30 p.m. Sunday along North Avenue.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-255-8477.

Mitchell is charged with aggravated assault, person not to possess a firearm and tampering with evidence. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail after his arrest.
