EAST PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 15-year-old accused of shooting another person in East Pittsburgh.

The shooting happened in September 2021 on Bessemer Avenue.

Police say Terron Luster and the victim knew each other. Luster told the victim to take a walk with him, according to police.

The victim was taken to the hospital and, luckily, survived.

When the victim refused, police say Luster pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.

Court papers also state the victim, from his hospital bed and unable to speak, used a dry erase board to communicate with police and explain what happened.

Soon, police connected Luster to the shooting through shell casings, a deformed bullet from the victim’s head and the gun used in the shooting, found under Luster’s mattress.

According to the criminal complaint, staff at Woodland Hills High School positively identified Luster as one of their students.

The district’s Superintendent James Harris sent Channel 11 the following statement:

“This is another devasting event in the lives of families that make up our community. My heart goes out to all who once again must suffer the ever-lasting trauma of gun violence. These events are life altering our families deserve better.”

Luster faces several charges, including attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
