Baby red-shouldered hawks rescued in Westmoreland County

SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two baby red-shouldered hawks are recovering at a local wildlife rehabilitation center after the tree their nest was in fell in Sewickley Township.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission's Southwest Region Office was called and state Game Warden Chris Bergman helped rescue the birds.

The other two hawks are “doing great,” Bergman told TribLIVE.

A third hawk died after it was taken to Wildlife Works in Youngwood, Channel 11’s news exchange partners at TribLIVE reported.

Once the birds are healed, they will be released.
