For the past few days, bricks have fallen from the complex on State Street causing officials to shut down a road and put up a sign that the building is not safe.
In total, seven apartments have been evacuated.
"The building inside is OK, it’s the outside that is crumbling and we need to fix that," Les Meiter from Alex Restoration and Masonry Repairs said.
It's expected to take three to four days for the work to be completed. Following that, an inspection will take place and if deemed safe, residents will be allowed to return.
