Beaver Co. community issues warning, offers reward in mysterious cat deaths

WEST MAYFIELD BOROUGH, Pa. — Several cats in Beaver County have turned up dead, and officials think someone is poisoning them.

In an alarming Facebook post, West Mayfield Borough issued a warning about cats mysteriously turning up dead, and community members want to get to the bottom of it.


Channel 11 spoke with one woman who says she found a cat in her backyard this week, dead but with no signs of trauma.

People who live there are concerned and upset about reports that seemingly healthy cats have been found dead on West 8th Avenue.

“Oh, I felt horrible. That poor thing. What are you going to do? We just buried her yesterday, so I really felt bad because the poor little thing didn’t even get a chance. It’s a situation and I hope to stop it,” she said.

A reward is being offered for information that leads to the person, if there is a person, responsible for these deaths.
