AMBRIDGE, Pa. — A Beaver County mother whose 10-month old baby died earlier this month after ingesting heroin has been held to stand trial.
Melissa Miller had a preliminary hearing this morning, where a judge ruled that all four charges against her will stand, including third-degree murder.

Miller told investigators she is a recovering addict.
In September 2020, her baby, Myla Rushman, overdosed on heroin found in Miller’s purse.
The baby was taken to Children’s Hospital, but died a few days later.
Miller was denied bail last week after the charges were upgraded.
She also faces involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.
