SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police believe a man on a bicycle in Butler County was hit and left for dead Wednesday morning, when the driver took off without calling or telling anyone.
The hit-and-run happened along Bonnie Drive, just off east Butler Road in Summit Township around 7 a.m.
It's an industrial area with no homes around and a dead end street.

Someone called 911 and when police arrived, they found Brian McFadden, 39, of Butler lying next to his bicycle.

Police say he was unconscious and they don't know how long he may have been there.
The initial investigation shows he was hit from behind by a vehicle that will have front end, passenger-side damage.
Troopers are going to the various businesses along that road collecting their surveillance video, trying to get a timeline of Mcfadden's bicycle ride and the cars that traveled in the area.

The victim was flown by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.
State police say his condition is not good and that the victim probably never saw this coming.
Investigators say whoever hit him knew they hit a person and did not stop.
