BUFFALO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Washington County community that was getting policing help from its neighbor isn’t getting it anymore.

Buffalo Township is approximately 20 square miles, with about 2,500 residents and a large amount of farmland.,

Neighboring Donegal Township has been providing police protection for Buffalo Township the last few years, not knowing the contract expired. And last week, that all came to an abrupt end.

Township solicitor Lane Turturice had to contact the district attorney, the president judge, to let the public know and lastly tell state police. Without a contract, Donegal officers cannot enforce laws there.
