DORMONT, Pa. — Police are searching for a man who robbed a Dormont movie theater just 24 hours after robbing an Exxon gas station a block down the road.
Now, businesses in that area are on high alert as the suspected robber has not yet been identified.
In both incidents, police said the suspect approached the counter and demanded money from the register.
Ian Spottiswood was working alone at the Hollywood Theater when a man -- now well-known to police -- walked in.

"He wanted all the money, asked for the money in the register," Spottiswood said. "I gave it to him. Then he asked for what was in my pockets. He had his hand in his pocket the whole time. I wasn't taking that chance."
Dormont police said that man is the same person seen in surveillance pictures from a robbery at an Exxon 24 hours earlier, just a block away.

Hayley Dilla was behind the counter last night.
Dilla said he walked up to the counter like he was going to buy frozen fried rice. That is when she said he told her he had a weapon.
"He was like, 'Open your drawer and give me what's in there.' You don't want anything to go wrong that could."
Both clerks said they want that man's picture out there, and they want local businesses to be aware and alert.
Police said cameras on businesses in the area have caught this suspected robber in the act from several different high-quality angles.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call police.
