FORWARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A heavily traveled state road in Forward Township may be compromised, according to police.
Forward Township police chief Travis Stoffer has contacted the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in hopes of having a portion of State Route 136/Rainbow Run Road repaired.
"We wanted them to come out and at least you know put some type of hazard some kind of barrier around it to warn people because if you go off the edge of the road even just a couple of inches you're gonna go off into the dip," he said.
Residents told Channel 11 that the road has seemed to dip lower over time as well.
A water main break earlier in the week caused a mudslide down the side of the road.
"The guard rail over here is getting further and further down the hill than it used to be," Donna Godsey, a Forward Towship resident said. "We can feel it dipping more and more and more."
WPXI'S Liz Kilmer reached out to PennDOT, which is monitoring the situation and expecting to make repairs.
