PITTSBURGH — A Canada lynx at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium has tested positive for COVID-19, a first such documented case in the United States, the zoo announced Tuesday.
PCR testing has been submitted for four other lynxes that are at the zoo, but results have not yet come back.
The lynx that is confirmed to have COVID-19 began displaying signs of it, including occasional coughing, the zoo said. However, symptoms have been mild and the cat is expected to make a full recovery.

Earlier in December, two tigers at the zoo tested positive for COVID-19 and have since recovered, according to the zoo. The lynxes live in an area near the tigers and were likely exposed to the virus at a similar time.
