NEW STANTON, Pa. — Drivers on Interstate 70 came across an unexpected sight Monday: A car stuck in the middle of a pedestrian bridge.

Jessica Magyor couldn’t believe what she was seeing, so she snapped a picture as her boyfriend drove along the highway.

"It was literally the craziest thing I have seen in a long time. The whole time I'm over my seat looking in the mirrors, like this can't be really happening right now. I thought if those rails weren't there, he could've drove right off,” Magyor said.

TRENDING NOW:

Magyor told

that there’s a ramp at the end of the bridge to walk down, and the driver apparently attempted to maneuver the small SUV down the ramp. She believes the vehicle couldn’t fit, so the driver attempted to back up.

She’s not sure whether it was a wrong turn or an intentional move.

"It kinda looks like a prank,” she said. “The way it's all been going today... I don't know, I hope he wasn't serious."

Someone eventually did call 911, but the car was gone before the fire department got on scene.

PennDOT told Gillespie there doesn’t appear to be any structural damage.

The bridge has been there for decades and this is the first time something like this has happened.

However, to ensure it doesn’t happen again, new barriers have been added to the ramp to the pedestrian bridge and markings were added to the pavement that read, "No vehicles."
