AVALON, Pa. — Local police work every day to remove drugs and drug dealers from their communities.
The Avalon Police Department invited Channel 11′s Joe Arena along on a drug bust, and our camera captured the entire thing as police entered the home.
“This particular house we’ve been investigating for several months. We’ve done some controlled buys out of this residence and now today is pretty much go time,” said Avalon police Chief Tom Kokoski.
The Avalon Police Department, with help from the Bellevue Police Department, served a warrant at the home where they say crack cocaine and heroin was being sold.

Kokoski and his team have been learning everything they can about the house on Cleveland Avenue, but he says every bust is different.
“Once you’re at the door and you enter, you really don’t know what’s gonna happen,” Kokoski said.
In this case, Kokoski said his officers faced two large dogs in the house and also discovered children inside.
The children were removed from the home.
Tonya Thompson, 43, and Bruce Arlotta, 41, were both arrested and charged with delivery and possession of drugs -- the end of a monthslong investigation and a coordinated effort.
“If you’re a drug dealer in Avalon, you’re probably gonna have a short shelf life,” Kokoski said.
