Charges dropped against 5 accused in shooting at Pittsburgh vigil

PITTSBURGH — Charges have been withdrawn against five people accused of a shooting that injured three people, including two kids at a vigil in Homewood.

The Allegheny County District Attorney withdrew the charges against Jamiere DeHonney, Donald Dotson, Gregory Parker, Jonah Reid and Jermaine DeHonney.

A witness in the case was murdered, the district attorney said.

Others are not cooperating so the case can’t move forward.

The shooting happened on Monticello Street in September 2015, as people gathered to remember Anton Smith, who was killed two years earlier.

A 49-year-old woman, a 12-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were wounded.
